Many of the national housebuilders we work with face a number of challenges. Not just from having to organise large scale building works, but also the vital work needed in managing local community relationships, which can be disrupted as a result of issues from unexpected sources.
Our client, Bloor Homes, asked us to work with them to develop an effective crisis response team following the announcement that a necessary road closure for the construction of a housing development threatened to upset relationships with local communities.
They wanted to reassure local people that they were doing everything possible to limit disruption and manage any local issues or concerns that could have a damaging effect on their long term ability to operate in the area.
From brand indifference to brand importance
We worked closely with the Local Authority and contracting teams to hone a united approach. Our strategy focused on a Local Resident hotline across all media which we quickly set up to ensure the wider community had access to up-to-date information about the road closure.
Working closely with the client, we undertook a complete situation assessment and issued regular and timely press statements.
And by monitoring all social media channels and emails for any complaints and petitions, we were able to respond to these in ‘real time’, so that no local resident was left in the dark.
